A shelf that looks like a branch growing out of a wall.

Lunuganga

Lunuganga is the late Geoffrey Bawa's country retreat in Sri Lanka. It is a magnificent place and I was really priviledged to stay there in 2005 whilst doing a workshop with Julie Mathias. Whilst we were there we made the first prototype of our shelf, which we named after the place. The shelf isn't a real branch, it's made of plastic resin.

We were drawing on the image of trees submerged in the monsoon waters, and on the contrast between the steamy Sri Lankan gardens and lakes and the clean white aesthetic of european furniture.
